Hello! My name is Adam, and photography has been a great addition to my life. It has made me look at nature, and objects in a whole new way, and given me more appreciation for it. I'm excited to be a part of this new community, and can't wait to see the photos everyone has, along with sharing experiences, and knowledge.

Hello !!

I'm Tracy, and like Adam, I've learned to see beauty in things I'd never consider taking a photo of. Like Matt's spider... OMG. ; ) I am pleased with my progress over a year, and I am looking forward to learning much much more.

I'm thrilled to be part of a group of photographers who I consider to be professionals. It's an honor.

Hi!
I was raised in Connecticut and now live in Rhode Island. I have always Pictured myself (no pun intended) being a photographer, but didn't get involved with it until the summer of 2007. It is such an amazing hobby. It's relaxing and exciting and emotional and rewarding... all at the same time! There's nothing quite like it. I can't wait to learn and grow with everyone here!

Keep clicking!

Hi, my name is Gabriel and I am thrilled to be part of this new site. I am just and average (below average, actually...) hobby photographer but I continuously try to improve. I love to see good photos, to comment, to learn and share the little I know. I also beleive photography can erase distances and differences and get people together easier than a lot of other things. I also really like others to comment and criticise my photos, as i think it is the only way progress is certain...

And the last but not the least, I like to make good friends for the long road ahead...

Like a few other D2 members, I am from Canada.. well the part of Canada affectionately known as "The Rock"- Newfoundland. I purchased my first camera in 73 (yes that's 1973) and for three summers photographed many parts of the wilderness areas of my province while working as a geology field assistant. I thought I always had an interest in photography. Turns out, I had an interest in taking pictures. It wasn't until I got my first digital camera in 2006 and had many a discussion about art and design with my school's art teacher, that I discovered I didn't know anything about photography. After a dozen books, seven thousand photographs and a few months with MSS an now D2, I have realized I still have much to learn. Thanks to D2 members now totaling in the dozens, I am learning. I am sure other D2 members are realizing that every image they place online helps another D2 member... provides varying examples of subjects, shows a different POV, demonstrates many elements of good photography and how to break the rules and so much more. I hope D2 admin will continue to monitor the site and make our time here as pleasurable as the past month. Jim

We've recently had some new members, and this forum has been buried in the archives, so I thought I'd stir it up a little.

Welcome new members !! If you'd like to introduce yourself, this is the place to do it !

Shooting Manual+Raw is the only way to go. I shot that way from the start in hopes that it would force me to really think about a scene before I released the shutter.

I'm a long time photographer who has finally bitten the bullet and now shoot RAW with Manual Settings. Resisted over the past 3 years that I've been sharing photos on Social sites because I didn't want to have one more thing to 'think about'. I don't think I will ever go back. Enjoy seeing the ideas of others. New perspectives can come in handy.

Hello! My name is Michael. I developed a passion for photography 1 1/2 yrs ago. I first believed that photography had allowed me to see that which was being overlooked by most. But the truth is photography has allowed me to see that which I had overlooked and that which could only have been seen by me. And by capturing it I can share it.

The composition of what I see at any given moment is unique because it is a combination of many factors and I am one of those factors. My mood, what draws my focus, the angle and perspective I choose to view from are just a few.

The beauty that I can see in the mundane or the old or broken can be captured and shared with those who can not. Because tone, color, mood, temperature, lighting, and atmosphere are constantly changing I am always viewing things as I have never seen them before. No one knew that better than Ansel Adams who often photographed the same area over, and over, and over again. And it always looked different.

"So if you ever need a pep talk about photography I'm your guy:-)"
