FAQs

Q: How do photos get featured?
A:
We tend to feature only high end photos but we also try to feature people who have shown improvement in their photography or have taken the advise of others and recomposed a shot for the better.

Q: Why do members need to be approved to join this network
A:
The simple answer... quality control! We aren't looking for strictly professional photographers here, however, we want members who are going to be helpful and passionate about this art. Using application approval allows us to moderate D2 more efficiently so it will maintain a high quality standard.

Q: Why is D2 so strict about over-posting?
A:
Again, quality control. Sites that allow anybody to post anything are a dime-a-dozen these days. This is a site dedicated to people who enjoy the ART of photography. It is difficult to give constructive criticism when people post hundreds of snapshots at a time, not to mention that it takes away from the integrity of the site.

Q: Is D2 just for professional photographers?
A:
Absolutely not! While we do have members who are professional grade photographers, this site was not intended solely for the elite. This site is for anyone who is resolved to improving the quality of their photographs.

Q: Does D2 allow nude photographs to be posted?
A:
No. It's a touchy subject and a gray area for a lot of people. We understand that a lot of professional photographers shoot nudes from time to time and that they can very tasteful. However we have also seen photos that lacked the professional quality and the artistic taste that most professionals portray in their work. The question is where do we draw the line? We decided that it is in the best interest of D2 that we say no nudes at all. This will eliminate the issue of having to deal with less tasteful posts from members down the road. It will also ensure that D2 maintains the integrity that it was founded on. Thank you for understanding and complying.

Q: Do you have any options that allow you to be notified when a friend posts a new image?
A:
Yes! Here are the instructions for setting this up for photos. You can repeat the process for discussions, groups, blogs, or anything!

• If it is a specific member’s photos, navigate to his profile and click on the user’s “photos” link on the left just below his/her profile information. This will open a page containing only that members photos
• Scroll down to the bottom of the photos
• On the left hand side there is a hyperlink called RSS. Click that link.
• This will bring you to a NEW page that contains all of the users photos
• At the top you will find a box that says SUBSCRIBE TO THIS FEED USING…
• From the drop down menu you can select Outlook, Yahoo, Google, or you can choose your own application.
• Once you have your notification method selected click SUBSCRIBE NOW!
• That’s it!

Q: Why was my photo deleted?
A:
We usually give members an opportunity to re-evaluate inappropriate photos on their own. However, photos may be deleted without notice if they are offensive, are of sub-par quality, or are not with in the guidelines of D2.
