Lens flare

Hi there all you pros and semi-pros out there. I have two questions regarding lense flare:
1) how can it be avoided as much as possible when shooting right against the sun?
2) is there a specific functionality in CS3 to remove it during post processing?

The "effect" is good old macro shallow Dof, minor dodging/burning and a white vignette !
