Hi Fellow snappers Just returned from my latest shoot in Malawi The plan was to go right at the end of the dry season so the animals would be forced to be at the river to drink and cool themselves Luckily the weather did not break and we managed to track these magnificent Elephants on the banks of the shire river Finding then turned out to be the easy part !! The hard part was creeping up on them without letting them know you were there ,then getting a clear shot with the light in the right place Ha no easy task I can tell you . Our plan was to sail up river until we saw a herd go past them on the opposite bank then cross the river cut the engines and then let the current take us floating quietly past a plan that worked too well the elephants did not know we were there until We were right on top of them resulting in some clear shooting But when we were spotted by them there was a lot of trumpeting before a charge which I got the start of !!!!!!!!! then there was a mad starting of engines and I knew it was time to leave
